Current sponsors The Cycle Systems Academy have sponsored me through provision of a place on their intensive ten-day City and Guild accredited bicycle repair course. We covered everything in detail – from hubs, rims and bottom brackets to headsets, wheel building and accessories. The course culminates in a full frame switch. Beforehand I'd made countless errors when tinkering with bikes including once memorably screwing the pedals in against the thread which resulted in being stuck in a small Patagonian town for two weeks. These guys are real experts and I'd strongly recommend this course to anyone contemplating a long bike tour or any cyclist who has an interest in having the skills to repair bikes.
